Who Are We?
Eisa Tea Co. is a woman-owned tea business that stands for two main things: delicious tea and the fair treatment of tea farmers around the world.
Women make up the majority of the workforce in the tea industry, and yet, they often face issues such as wage disparities and exploitation. As such, 5% of all profits go directly to our Empowerment Fund, and we work directly with small family farms which support female farm managers, leaders, and tea pickers. We ensure that their voices are heard and respected.
Plus, we work with wild tea trees and small gardens where the teas are chemical- and pesticide-free, single-origin, and handcrafted with skill. This means that you can enjoy the finest teas in the world while knowing you're contributing to a sustainable future for both people and the planet.
Our ethos is simple: we believe tea should be more than just a drink; it should be an experience that nurtures and empowers.

Behind every tea is a person, a family, and a place with its own story.
The farmers we work with are small family producers who know every part of their craft, from growing and harvesting the leaves to carefully processing each tea by hand. Some are preserving traditional methods passed down through generations, while others are creating new futures for their communities through sustainable farming.
From Phyu Thwe who returned to her hometown of Myanmar to build a family tea project which supports local growers and preserves the region’s rich tea heritage, to the Kinezuka family pioneering organic tea farming in Japan, each farmer has a unique journey that deserves to be shared.

This book was born from years spent learning tea from the inside out: trekking the misty mountains of Taiwan, sitting in the serene discipline of Japanese tearooms, peering into the hidden microbial worlds beneath the soil, and always returning to the simple, shared joy of a cup of tea.
It's written for beginners, enthusiasts, and lifelong students alike, revealing new layers as your understanding grows. Together, we'll explore how tea is grown, crafted, brewed, and enjoyed, sharpening your palate and uncovering the myths, legends, science, and traditions behind the tea.
